Design Experience

May 3, 2025

My path to product leadership was forged through design, not boardrooms. As a product designer, I leverage proven methodologies like design studios and rapid conceptualization, to transform abstract ideas into tangible artifacts with remarkable speed. My technical fluency goes beyond typical designer’s toolkit. I navigate the latest design tools and software technologies with the same confidence I bring to creative direction, allowing me to seamlessly integrate with any team, at any stage, and deliver immediate, measurable impact. Where others might struggle to adapt, I thrive on jumping into the complexity; translating vision into value, whether a project is just a spark or already aflame.

Design Experience Two

May 3, 2025

Design may be my primary playground, but I’m no stranger to pushing commits. I dive into code, daily. Not just as a hobby, but as a crucial counterpart to my design practice. This hands-on development experience has become my secret weapon, allowing me to bridge the gap between aesthetic vision and technical feasibility. By understanding what happens behind the scenes, I create designs that don’t just look beautiful, but actually work beautifully in production. My command of coding fundamentals transforms collaboration with developers from translation to true partnership.

Development Experience

May 3, 2025

Technology and design are constantly evolving, and I evolve with them. From pioneering virtual conference environments in the early 2000s to integrating AI capabilities into modern applications, I’ve consistently embraced emerging technologies to enhance the user experience.

Today, I’m exploring how AI and machine learning can augment the design and development process, enabling faster iteration while maintaining quality. I believe these tools don’t replace human creativity and judgment – they amplify our capabilities and allow us to focus on higher-level strategic thinking.

Technical Expertise 01

Apr 27, 2025

Unlike many design leaders, I don’t just sketch ideas and hand them off. I contribute significant front-end code, establish technical architecture, and build functional prototypes. My programming journey spans multiple decades and languages – from BASIC in the 1980s to modern JavaScript frameworks today.

This technical depth enables me to make more informed design decisions, anticipate implementation challenges, and communicate effectively with engineering teams. When I design a component, I understand how it will be built, what constraints might arise, and how to optimize for performance and scalability.

Technical Expertise 02

Apr 27, 2025

For me, success isn’t measured by aesthetic appeal alone – it’s about solving real problems for users and delivering measurable business impact. At myClin, I conducted extensive user research and pattern analysis to optimize clinical trial workflow experiences. At Traffic Safety Store, my redesign increased conversion rates from 40% to 92% within six months of launch.

I believe great products emerge at the intersection of user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility. By understanding all three dimensions, I create solutions that not only delight users but also drive meaningful results.

About

Apr 9, 2025

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. I am a Philadelphia based technology leader and software product designer/developer. Over my thirty year career I have built, and been a part of teams that have developed, cutting edge software solutions in the financial technology, clinical trial regulatory, logistics and broadband telecom industries.

Currently I am the Director of Digital Strategy for Cable One, a broadband cable and telcom provider operating in the south, southwest and midwest markets.

What I’m About, Professionally Speaking.

Professionally, I am a passionate technology enthusiast, and love designing and developing enterprise software suite as much as the consumer mobile application. As an award winning designer, I like to solve problems and concept solutions to tackle them efficiently. The majority of my career has been spent helping mid to late stage startups and technology companies effectively navigate change management that produced successful results.

Beyond The Keyboard

Personally, I am a technophile, religiously following the latest trends and developments in desktop, mobile and web technologies. This includes staying up to date with AI, LLMs and software/hardware automation. When not in front of the keyboard I enjoy watching McLaren Formula One, the Philadelphia Flyers, Tottenham Hotspur and working on my home in Philadelphia with my wife, Abby. Its here where we volunteer at a local inner-city farm as beekeepers, stay involved in the greater tech community, and enjoy life with our dog Drax and his cat siblings Aja and Dorian.

For more detailed information about my experience, please continue on. Regardless, thank you for your visit, I hope you found something useful on my website.

Local LLM deployment and configuration

Configuring a local LLM using Ollama . This is being installed on an old gaming machine that I wiped clean and set up with Debian 12. The intention is to leverage the API provided by Ollama and create local agents to assist Abby and myself with our work and day to day tasks.

I am hoping to use this experience to show clients how they could set up a local LLM within their organization. These LLMs could handle specialized initatives like writing draft product documentation or automatically compile consumable release notes.

MCP Experimentation

Over the last few weeks I have been experimenting with MCP and the Google equivilant A2A protocols. I am keeping notes as I move along and plan on publishing soon.

Mission Statement

Oct 31, 2022

Design is the process that is necessary to produce practical solutions to all problems large or small, digital or analog. The solution and process is never perfect, and can constantly be improved through further design iteration.
